Chris Brown and Rihanna are a couple of steps closer to confirming what everyone's suspected for months, as he's just released a statement announcing his breakup with aspiring model Karrueche Tran — and admitting Rihanna was involved in the split.
"I have decided to be single to focus on my career," Brown lied stated to Hollywood Life. "I love Karrueche very much but I don’t want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna. I’d rather be single allowing us to both be happy in our lives."
The announcement came just after Chris and Rihanna were spotted together at Jay-Z's concert at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, a few days after they allegedly hugged and kissed in public at a nNYC nightclub. Brown also tweeted Wednesday evening, "Both r Free from it all!"
Now it's really just a matter of time before Chris and Rihanna admit they're more than friends. Sigh. There will be backlash, but not as much as everyone might think. So-called "Chrianna" fans are flipping out right now. Wondering how a reunion might affect their careers?
